Evan Viera is an internationally acclaimed director, composer, and storyteller renowned for his distinctive visual and sonic style. His work, celebrated globally at hundreds of festivals and viewed hundreds of millions of times online, has garnered numerous prestigious accolades, including three Cannes Lions Grand Prix, a D&AD Black Pencil, a Prix Ars Electronica distinction, and an Annie Award nomination. In 2018, Cannes Lions recognized Viera as the #1 Director, acknowledging his achievments in directing for that year.
As the founder of ORCHID, a boutique animation studio, Viera leads a dedicated team of story artists, visual development artists, and writers specializing in pre-production and creative development. Viera's notable clientele includes industry leaders such as Lilith Games, Riot Games, thatgamecompany, Electronic Arts (EA), and Respawn Entertainment. Under his direction, he has helmed numerous narrative projects across film and interactive media. Noteworthy projects include Sky: The Two Embers, a two-part animated feature created with thatgamecompany and Light & Realm; Dislyte, the cinematic campaign for the game launch by Lilith Games; and Northstar, one of the most-viewed Apex Legends short films for EA and Respawn Entertainment.
Viera also directed Legends Never Die, a League of Legends Worlds 2017 animated short for Riot Games, amassing nearly 300 million views, ranking it among the top five most-watched League of Legends videos ever and earning an Annie Award nomination. Additionally, his hybrid live-action and animated short, The Giant—commissioned by the Palau Government for the landmark "Palau Pledge" initiative—earned three Grand Prix at Cannes Lions, including the prestigious Titanium Grand Prix and the coveted D&AD Black Pencil.
